Medical equipment register development

“MEDITEX” Science & Technology Center accomplished the work as associate contractor in “Software system development for the purpose of the medical equipment register maintaining” research project according to the Ministry of Healthcare and Social development of The Russian Federation order. “MEDITEX” was to develop the content of classification systems and to establish connections between them.

The aim of this project was to create a register of medical equipment that is approved for use on the Russian Federation territory using advanced informational technologies of data сollection, process and analysis.

According to developer intention the register of medical equipment is to be a combination of organizational and technical resources intended for:

• Maintenance of integrated medical equipment classification system;
• Medical equipment and products registration;
• Statistical, analytical and other reports formation;
• Formation of non-recurring (unformalized) fetches and inquiries upon the request of users;
• User’s requests record and analysis.
• One of the primary System purposes is to maintain the integrated medical equipment and products classification system.

The System is also intended for medical equipment and products registration and record in healthcare facilities and for regional and federal information consolidation. Medical equipment registration and record should be performed using multipurpose medical equipment nomenclature (classificator) maintained in System.

Within the framework of this contract the following is worked out:

• Development of medical equipment classificator data structure and format;
• Preparation of data fetches out of medical equipment classificator for the purpose of import to the medical equipment register;
• Connections are established between nomenclative medical equipment classificator and registered medical equipment data base, All-Russian products classificator, All-Russian products and services classificator by economic activity, and Foreign economic activity commodity nomenclature concerning all types of X-ray diagnostic equipment, ultrasonic equipment and MRI systems;
• Specification of requirements for medical equipment record in healthcare facilities, data format development for upload in the register.
